Hi, I'm Vanessa Holliday
In 2014, I walked away from a thriving DJ career and closed the doors on my PR/Marketing agency to follow a deeper calling, one rooted in healing, creative freedom, and true purpose. I had spent years behind the decks, building a name in the South African music scene, but something inside me knew I was meant to use sound in a completely different way.
So I shifted course. I went on to complete an Honours degree in Dance & Music Therapy from a Rudolf Steiner university, and eventually found my way to Bali, where I became one of the leading Sound Healing Practitioners at the world-renowned Pyramids of Chi.
But here’s what most people don’t know: I never let go of my love for electronic music and production. Instead, I merged my background in DJing and sound design with ancient sound healing practices, and that’s when everything changed. I began using Ableton Live not just as a music platform, but as a tool for building transformational sound journeys. With it, I could layer binaural frequencies, live-loop instruments, process vocals in real-time, and create sonic environments that moved people to tears, not through hype, but through resonance.
Since launching my sound healing trainings in 2019, I’ve taught hundreds of sound healers how to step into their full power, not just by striking a bowl, but by understanding the energy they carry, the depth of presence they embody, and the tools that allow their artistry to flourish.
But during my five years in Bali, I witnessed a dangerous trend in the wellness world…
Sound healing was being diluted, glamorized by crystal bowls, sparkly dresses, and “love and light” slogans. Trainings were becoming surface-level, overpriced, and disconnected from both the technical and energetic depth this practice requires.
